What's In The Box? (The Reality Box)

HELLO BACKERS!
Thank you again for funding us yesterday and for continuing to barrel through to our stretch goals. We're VERY excited about getting tattoos. And maybe giving you (temporary) tattoos, too.
Today I'd love to tell you about one of our favorite stupid ideas: the Reality Box!
Our idea with this box is to create a portal to a world without the Internet. Sometimes I want to spend time away from a screen, but I struggle to find things to do, since my whole life is intertwined with devices. The reality box has a whole bunch of things to discover, learn, to be entertained by, to relax with — and even things that will give you interactions with other humans!
We've been coy about the reality box because we want it to be a surprise, but we got excited and want to tell you all about what's in this great box. Here's an image!!
The box will have: a Doubleclicks mug, NEW Doubleclicks dice, a craft, a camera, a custom DOUBLECLICKS singing birthday card, and a bunch of activities. The "reality book" is part coloring/activity book, part how-to and part guided journal. It'll be a little like diving down a wikipedia hole (information on taking great pictures and facts about nature). There will be information on how to do a craft (all materials included), rules for games (to play with your new dice!), plus a crossword puzzle and word search all themed around different not-Internet activities. There is also... more!
Truly, getting away from the Internet to do crafts, read books, see friends and take up hobbies has changed my life over the last few years. I've been online since 6th grade and it's awesome and terrible. I'm so excited for this silly box.

IMPORTANT UPDATE to the "reality box" levels:
Anyone who backs at the "reality box" level (or above) will get both enamel pins, a signed CD, and a shirt or tote. This isn't what it says in the reward level, and though we can't change the text on the sidebar, it is TRUE. At the "reality boxes for two" level, backers will get *two* shirts and two sets of both pins.

The First Single — I'm Winning!

We're very excited for you to finally see the video for our first single "I'm Winning!"
This is a song I wrote about discovering my gender identity and coming out. It's was a really tumultuous thing to do, but there are moments of complete joy — of knowing that I'm finally playing the right game, living my truth, and being myself.
We wrote this song and then decided we wanted to do something really cool with it, so we made this animated music video, a project that took months to put together and was absolutely worth it.
The video follows four superheroes through a battle for the fate of the world. They have to travel through several videogame worlds to get their gems back. Each section of this video is animated by a different nonbinary, genderqueer and/or trans animator. Taco Bell Celebration Livestream & More D&D

Hello Wonderful Backers!
You have very nearly got us 3/4 of the way to our goal in our first week and we LOVE that!
We've decided on a way to celebrate!
Since I (Laser) moved to Los Angeles, the Doubleclicks spend a lot of the time calling each other while we're driving around. We call each other a lot. Like, up to two hours a day. (that's why we started a podcast.)
One of my favorite places to call Aubrey from is the Taco Bell drive thru. It's a good place for us to catch up on all the things we've been upset about because we're hangry.
SO! When our project funds, we're going to call each other from the taco bell drive thru and we're going to LIVE STREAM IT! (The best way we know how to do this is Instagram, so follow us there). I'm not exactly sure what this will be like, it will definitely include us ordering Taco Bell (my order is complicated, not to brag), some songs, celebration, crunchwraps!
This may be silly, but as they say — it's 2019, the world is on fire, LIVE MAS.
In other news!
We were asked to add another "play D&D with the Doubleclicks" level, so we have! You can now pick from a game in Portland and a game in Los Angeles. The Portland game will be run by Justin Turner (Aubrey's excellent spouse) and the Los Angeles game will be run by Richard Malena-Webber (Laser's excellent spouse). These levels have been our favorite in the past, we love meeting y'all and fighting dragons with you.

Finally we can show you this... our second enamel pin on this Kickstarter was designed by the incredible KATE LETH!
Kate is a writer of television and comics, an artist, a queer icon, and a badass. We're so incredibly excited that she has designed this pin for us. We initially asked Kate for a different design, and she made us a new very clever "Doubleclicks" logo just of her own creativity and we loved it so much, it's become the focus of the pin! She created this incredible "membership badge"-looking design. It will be gold with spacey-purple glitter and white inlay. It's a sort of formal quirky vibe? I can't wait to wear it.
The pin says "Musica Felibus," which is Latin for "music for cats," "music by cats," and "cat music." Latin is a fascinating language. Thank you to Adrienne Stapleton and Sara Cara Mabry for helping us with the translation!
